Driver Training SchoolsBelow is a list of approved driver training schools for fulfilling the general driver training requirements.Schools participating in the road test waiver program.General driver training requirements may also be met by completing the driver education classroom and behind-the-wheel training through the Department of Public Instruction. Contact the school you attend to see if driver training is offered.Note: The can ONLY be used for the minor driver who, under the age of 18-years old, received a Minor Driver's Cancellation for accumulating six (6) or more points or had an alcohol or drug violation while operating a motor vehicle.

This course will NOT fulfill the general classroom and behind-the-wheel requirements for those individuals under the age of 16 wishing to become licensed. Requirements for North Dakota Road Test Waiver AuthorizationNorth Dakota State Statute 39-25 and Administrative Rule 37-13 authorizes the North Dakota Department of Transportation to waive the Class D road test for students who successfully complete the required behind the wheel and classroom training.In addition to the monitoring requirements in Administrative Code 37-13, NDDOT may randomly road test students who complete the training at an approved Driving School. If discrepancies or concerns are found, the Driving School’s approval to have the road test waived will be rescinded.To participate in the Road Test Waiver Program you must be an approved Class D Driving School or a Public School. Complete the. The Drivers License Division will review your application for final approval. If approved, the Drivers License Division will send you an ‘Authorization for Road Test Waiver’ letter and samples of the ‘Certificate of Course Completion’ (for the road test to be waived) and the ‘Certificate of Training’ (for students who do not complete the 30 hours of classroom training and must be tested by a North Dakota Drivers License Examiner).
